4 Club members from OH8TA RADIO club in Oulu Finland will arrive in Rovaniemi Finland on December 22nd to participate in the annual Santa Claus Activities. We will be operating under the call OH9SCL. We will also use the call sign OH8T for scheds during that time.

The expeditions will be QRV on HF 6meters, 2 meters and UO-14 and AO-40.

Kenwood TS930s and TS440s
tower 18 m, Hygain Th 11, 10-20 (5 bands, 11 ele)
Cushcraft R5, 80m + 40m dipoles'
Oh yeah and there is also a monster 800 watt amp for HF also.

VHF Satellite
FT-100, FT-817,
50MHz 3 ele yagi,
144Mhz Quagi, to be build yet.

I would like to have ready a helix for AO-40 by then also.
We have transverter and preamp for 2.4GHz already
All that is left is the antenna, one quagi for uplink, and one helix for
downlink.

Coming Summer 2002

A bicycle expedition is planned for the summer of 2002.

Ham radio operators from the Oulu area will ride down to Tampere in the south of Finland. These Hams will demonstrate the possibilities of using alternative energies to power ham radio equipment laptop computers and more "for the hell of it".

The plan is to start out from Oulu and visiting other clubs day by day until we reach Tampere. The trip is expected to take several days. Hams will be active on repeaters throughout the trip as well as having aprs active and displaying the trip progress on the net.
