STFD just took delivery of our new Rescue 24 (R-24). R-24 is
a 2003 Ford F-350 Supercab with a utility bed and skid unit and tank.
R-24 replaces the the previous R-24 (2002 Ford F-350 Supercab) that was
bought earlier this year and was struck head on while responding to a Automatic
Fire Alarm Investigation. Lt. R. Schultz received minor injuries
and was transported to GMH. Lt. R. Schultz was treated and released.
The driver of the vehicle which struck R-24, went around several vehicles
that had stopped to yeild to R-24 and struck R-24. The driver was
injured and was transported to GMH. The new R-24 was placed in-service
at St. 2. Pictures will be coming soon.

The author of "The Official Unofficial Web Page for the Sugarcreek
Township Fire Department" would like to congratulate FF/EMT-P Tracy
Vanhoose on her new job. Tracy has just accepted a full-time position
as a FF/EMT-P with the Kettering Fire Department (OH). Tracy
starts her new job September 23, 2002. Tracy's last day with the
Sugarcreek Twp. Fire Department will be September 16, 2002. Though
it saddens us that we will be loosing her and she will be greatly missed,
we are very happy that she has taken her new job with the Kettering Fire
Department. Tracy has been with us through the good times and helped
all of us get through the bad times and has made things more bareable.
I will never be able to forget the volley shifts that we use to work together
(need I say more?) and all of fun we had. Tracy has taught all of
us a lot and we have watched her grow into the person that she is.
Kettering Fire Department is getting one hell of a FF/EMT-P. Even
though Tracy will no longer be working with us, she is always welcome and
she will always be a member of our family. Congrats Sketter.
Luv,
Lurch, Hub Cap and Chicken Hawk
