My 1967 MGB, this is a car I should have never purchased. I bought this vehicle when
I was 16 years old because I wanted a sports car. My girlfriend told me about one of
her ex-boyfriends who had an MG that he might be interested in selling. I jumped on
the chance thinking with my want rather than my brain. When all was said and done I
was out $550 and had myself an MGB. Three days after the purchase of my new toy, I
was at a party and everyone thought it was so cool and all wanted a ride in it.
About 4 rides into the evening I pulled out on another trip and as I made the corner out of
the driveway and the front-driver side wheel comes flying up through the fender, ripping it
almost completely off. I ended up cutting the fender the rest of the way off and driving it
with an open wheel as shown in the picture above. The reason for the wheel popping off
was the spinner lugs were installed improperly. Needless to say, since then I have not
been a big fan of spinner lugs.
