We were camping at Fort Stevens State Park in Astoria Oregon.
It was the best time we ever had camping.
Fort Stevens has a Junior Ranger Program for the kids... the adults found
it enjoyable too !
If you ever decide to go to Fort Stevens, make sure you reserve way in advanced.
The lovely lady on the left is my wife
Trina.
Hint and Tips
Here are a few things we learned and found out along the
way.
- Don't put the stablizers directly on the ground, instread put them
on 2"x4"s
- We went to Lowes, and purchased 8' 2"x4", and had it cut in 4 for
us.
- Have everything you need in a bucket at the door ready to go, makes
like much easier
- The cranks
- Chocks
- Flashlight...
- level
- wood (see above)
- Stock the pop-up so that weekend getaways are much easier
- disposable plates and utensils
- sleeping bags and pillows
- coffee/tea/hot choclate
- light sticks
- garbage bags
- broom
- When getting a hitch, get a 2" hitch.
- We had a 1 1/4" inch and we had to replace it becuase we wanted to
carry bikes
- If you are going to a plug in site bring the following (why waste your
propane if the electricity is already paid for)
- plug in heater
- plug in stove
- crockpot - this makes for easy meals
- Bring indoor games
- coloring books
- cards
