Mobile Set-Up Information
(a.k.a. Bumble-Bee)
Since I live in a condo, I build up my mobile station a bit.
I call my car Bumble-Bee
because it is yellow and it has multiple antennas!
My car usually has 2 radios :
·
Yaesu FT-8900
o
the main radio always in the car
·
A secondary radio.
o
I switch between radios depending on the mood I am in.
o
I have a second NMO mount on my car, so I can easily switch
antennas to match the radio.

Sometime I want to run 2 meter SSB in the car ·
Sometimes I want to monitor a third 2 meter frequency in the car o
like going to a ham fest o
Having a mounted radio is better and safer than an HT on the car
seat. |
