Had to say something about my ETX-125.

It has a focal length of 1900mm
·
It has an aperture of 125 mm or ~5”
o
This is just right for urban areas
o
Anything bigger wouldn’t matter unless I observed from outside the
city
·

The ETX-125 is probably the last telescope I will buy :

It is just right for an amateur like myself (I am just beginning,
not an expert amateur)
·
It easily packs away so it is easy to store at home and transport
in the car
o
Because the 125 had a carry case and the 90 did not, I find the
125 more portable!

I purchased it used at the right price-point for a person of my
experience
o
There are some amateurs that spend $10k+
I have the following eye-pieces :

40mm - Celestron Omni Series
o
47.5x magnification
o
Has a relatively narrow FOV, but not bad at this price level
·
26mm - Meade 5000 Series
o
73x magnification
o
My best eye-piece!

12.5mm – Celestron Ultima Series
o
152x magnification
·
9mm - Celestron Omni Series
o
211x magnification
o
Something I picked up when I first started but doesn’t offer much
difference when compared to the 12.5mm.

5.5mm – Meade 5000 Series
o
245x magnification
