I had to say something about this antenna, since it is my oldest existing homebrew antenna.
I think I made this antenna during the summer of 1993.

It is basicly a 440 ground plane made from a broken TV antenna.
For mounting, I used some plastic cylinder ( not sure what it is exactly is) that I found.
It is secured to the plastic mount via a lot of tape.
It is mounted on the rod the supports the power that comes into the house.

Why did I make the antenna :

• I had the parts a the time to do it
• College kids don't have money... hey free antenna
• I had the time!
• I was on summer break from college and wanted to kill some time
  

I only used it once or twice to access some repeaters with my HT

• That was the last summer I was at home...
• When I was at home I was out doing stuff
• Great antenna though!

Other antennas I had at the LI QTH but took down when I left.

• 2 meter ground plane in attic.
• 150 foot dipole , about 25 feet high
