K7OSE   History and past station

I was licensed in 1964 as WN8OSE (novice) in Cleveland,
 Ohio and upgraded in 1965 to General Class as WA8OSE  at Columbus, Ohio. In 1966, I went on to Advance Class and on to Extra in 1986 .   W8OSE was issued in 1996.  W8OSE holds the DXCC  Honor Roll #1  and 5 band DXCC  along with many others.  At present, W8OSE has confirmed 355 total countries (mixed mode)  with 354 on Voice , 335 on Morse code, and 269 on RTTY (Teletype).

  Main tower is a Tri-X electric crankup (70') with a 3 element12/17/30 meters Beam, and stacked 15' above that is a Triband 10/15/20 meter beam .   All antennas have                
underground feed and are remote switched.  The main 
operating position of the W8OSE amateur station consist of 
  FT1000-MP transceiver with dual receivers, Commander 
2500 Amp 10-160 meters (HF), high speed internet for                                      
Packet-cluster and 2 Meter FM for DX net. Computes are  
Pen II-350/128 Megs of RAM / 6Gig. drive, and a 333Mhz K6,  and a 1Ghz 
Laptop in a network.  Software for RTTY
is MMTTY 1.62 and writelog Rtty
Logging by DX4WIN with computer interface 
to radio, packetcluster, and internet.
