Price Family Genealogy Page
Our family
tree has many broken branches. I hope, if you can help to mend the breaks,
we may fill the gaps and help all the Price family to know "from where we
come".
Much of
the research was passed to me from Mildred (Thomas) Price and her cousin Jane
Thomas through many hours of searching and a four week trip to Wales to track
down the leads.
Other information has been gathered by word of mouth and the
internet. If you are a Price or a Thomas you may be of help in
completing the Charts.
The
Price Crest shown on the Left is documented
in many books and is
for sale by special order from the store in the HMS Queen Mary docked at Long Beach, Calif.
The Picture on
the right is from LlanbrynmairWales in the county of Powys. This house was named "Llawr Coed" and my Great, Great, Grandfather (Jacob Price
Sr.) lived
there. The Prices no longer live in this house. However, during
her visit to the area, Mildred Price tried
many times to fine someone at home but they must have been on holiday.
We now know that Jacob W. Price (Jr.) married and emigrated to the U.S. in
1851. My Great, Great, Grandmother was from a Farm called "Pont Cowen"
near a town called Carmarthen in the county of Dyfed. The family name was
Thomas and today Lynn and Frieda Thomas still live in the same house. The Thomas
family has lived in this house for over 350 years.
Side Note: I once spoke to a Welsh ham radio operator, GW0HYJ, who lives about 5-6
miles from Lynn Thomas and he told me his wife Vivian goes to the same garden
club with Frieda Thomas (Small world)..
