My Personal
Information
My name is Robert Elder.
I live in the Northwest Corner
of Wyoming in the City of
Powell, which is located 17 miles
south of the Montana state line and
75 miles east
of Yellowstone National Park.
I have always been around Amateur
Radio as may Dad, W7OUX / SK held an
Advanced Class license. As a
youngster, we travelled to many Ham
Radio
related functions. I helped my
Dad build many Heathkits and home
brew
projects.
I was first licensed as a Novice in
1974 and was issued the call
WN7YFY, but due
to changes of interests, (mainly girl
chasing), I never persued the
hobby or upgraded
and let the license lapse after two
years. Twenty years later
along with a good friend
we studied questions for the
Technician Class license. In June of
1994 we tested
and passed that class of license and I
was issued the call
KC7EMS. In July of 2000
I attended a local testing session and
passed the General class
license, filed for a
vanity call dropping the "C" and
retaining my current call of K7EMS.
