Job Description:

Disaster Communications Volunteer

Duties:
Provide electronic communications support to direct service function workers in the field and in the Chapter's Emergency Operations Center. Includes setup and operation of telephones, cell phones and fax machines. Also requires message traffic handling via Business Band, HF, VHF and UHF amateur radios.

Skills:
Voice message transmission, logging and routing; Transceiver Operation; Amateur Radio license a plus.

Time:
Two to four hour monthly meetings and drills; also, staff a shift on disaster operations, drills and public service events.

Other:
Typing and familiarity with the use of computers for e-mail and word processing would be helpful. Training will be provided.
