Mark, N7MQ, contesting at ZF2MC/ZF8 in Oct, 1994 from
Ron Sefton's cottage on Little Cayman Isl.

Mark was initially licensed in 1969 as WN5WWC, but work and family led to
a hiatus in the hobby. Relicensed in mid-1980's and active since 1989
as N7MCA, contesting and chasing DX. He changed his call to N7MQ under
the vanity program.

Mark decided to try the other end of DX pile ups and made arrangements
to go to ZF8. Operated in January 1994 as ZF2MC/ZF8, with emphasis on
the low bands. Also earned DXCC as ZF2MC. Mark talked Ron WJ7R into DX
travel and the two of them operated as ZF2MC in the 1994 CQ WW SSB
contest.

Mark's next trip was to Cayman Brac, the easterly most of the Cayman
Islands in April and May 1996, operating as ZF2MC/ZF9. That trip was fun
and gave out a new prefix to the deserving.

Since then, Mark has joined the Cinco Nueve Contest Group in travels to
operate in the 1997 CQ WW CW and 1998 CQ WW SSB contests. While on
Tortola Island as VP2V/N7MQ, he gave out 1,000 qso's on the WARC bands,
giving a new one to many, including some very familiar calls form Europe
and Africa.

Mark is active in Valley Radio Club in Eugene, OR; member of ARRL; DXer;
