K6TPL on the River
I think the hardest thing in getting a Radio on a Boat is finding a good ground, that problem has bothered me for some time. I presently use a copper strap connected to the keel. The Radio equipment is located on the Port side above the bunk. The Atlas 210X on the left covers 10 through 80 Meters. It drifts very well, almost as much as the boat, On the right with is a Antenna Tuner to match the radio to the antenna a Webster Band Spanner that is connected to the stern. That Webster is a classic antenna! Sort of a hand operated Screw Driver Antenna that I have used since the 1950's on my first Mobil Radio in a 1950 Plymouth Coup. That was my first car as well as my first mobile Radio.
