    FIELD DAY ------------------

Field
      Day
      is
an event to test the field preparedness and emergency
communications abilities of the amateur radio community.
    •
From it's beginning back in the 1930's, Field Day has grown into the largest

      on-the-air operation of the year.
      2,100 clubs and individuals
across the US and Canada participate each year.
      Over 31,000 individual
hams participate and over 1.4 million messages

are exchanged in the brief 24 hour period.
    •
The purpose remains today as it
      did in the beginning:
      to demonstrate the communications
ability of the amateur radio community
      in simulated emergency situations.
    Field
Day offers an opportunity for operators to gain valuable experience.
