The 'Y2K bug' issue.

GE Logo®  Portable Radios Y2kStamp.gif (988 bytes)

I received a memo from GE a in early 1999.  This memo stated that ALL GE portable radios are completely Y2K compliant.  There is no Date/Year information stored in any GE Portable radio which in any way affects it's performance after December 31, 1999.  My MPD's and MPA are working fine as of May 20, 2000.

I see no reason for the Midland XTR mobile radio to have a problem at the date rollover from 1999 to 2000. There is no Time of Day, or Date/Year information stored in the Midland XTR mobile radio I have which in any way affects it's performance after December 31, 1999.

NOTE:  I have not seen anything official from Midland USA regarding Y2K compliance.

It's possible that Midland has posted Y2K information on their website WWW.MIDLANDUSA.COM

 

/\/\otorla MT-2000, MTS-2000, Saber, System Saber, Radius, Spectra, Astro Spectra Y2kStamp.gif (988 bytes)

There was no issue with any of the above radios on the 1999 to 2000 rollover. There is no Time of Day, or Date/Year information stored in any of the Motorla radios above which in any way affects it's performance after December 31, 1999.

NOTE:  I have not seen anything official from Motorola USA regarding Y2K compliance .

It's possible that /\/\otorola has posted Y2K information on their website:WWW.MOTOROLA.COM

Regency Mobile Radio (Model RH-606-B) Y2kStamp.gif (988 bytes)

I see no reason for the Regency RH-606-B mobile radio to have a problem at the date rollover from 1999 to 2000. There is no Time of Day, or Date/Year information stored in the Regency RH-606-B mobile radio I have which in any way affects it's performance after January 1, 2000.

NOTE:  I have not seen anything official from Relm regarding Y2K compliance.
