2018 K3FLT Antenna Installation! On September 29, 2018, The Milton Amateur Radio Club, K3FLT decided to purchase and hang a 220 and 440 MHz antennas to our repeater array 75 feet above the ground. Members met at the Greyside Restaurant at 8:30am for a hearty breakfast and good fellowship. When we arrived at the site, the antennas were fitted to the bracket and couplings placed on the tower. All the parts fit and we rehearsed the hang: hoisting the bracket, moving around guide wires and avoiding radials. Many hands made for light work as Barry Lewis served as the tower rigger. Vice-President Ken Bloomer called the hang with welcomed assistance from President Ken Hering. Also participating were Secretary, William Hoops, Treasurer, Terry Carroll, Fred Simon and Will Kradlak behind the camera. The hang took from 10am until 4pm and went smoothly and without incident. President Ken Haring tested the antennas after the hang and found them to be incredibly efficient and responsive. A great addition to our repeater public service project. After the hang, members shared a dinner at the Arrowhead Restaurant in Milton, PA. It was a long day and a good time was had by all.
