"EARLY indeed"

 
  March 2012 will go down into the record books here too, as it will over much of the midwest and east. We have had a day or two where the low for the day has actually exceeded the 
previous record HIGH for that date. Unreal. The "local" (temperature around the property) can be quite different than in town due to the cooling caused by the ice sheet on the lake. So our
highs have not been quite as extreme as in town. We have had 3 days with highs of over 70deg with normal highs being in the 30s. I can recall summer months that had fewer 70 deg days.
  The aspens have huge "catkins" and will leaf out soon I expect. The ice is set to depart within the week beating the earliest date of April 2, 2010. The tulips and daffodils are up and be
blooming within a week as well.
