Meeting ended at 12:45 am

Here are some of Bill's (N2COP) Presentation slides.

Well first of all everything went well at the State Meeting.  Bill (N2COP) and Tom (N4TAB) presentations went very well.  Lots and Lots of information.  A new record for State Level attendance a total of 46 guy's and gal's attending.

Tom is going to build a few self-contained Pactor III transportable Winlink systems for different branches of North Carolina - hardware was purchased by NCEM and is now on-hand.  Western Branch will be the custodian for one of them.  Initial training will take place In December/January, probably starting with AREA-15 and will rotate through Western Branch ARES groups.

RMS Express, a new soundcard-based program using the Winmor protocol offers access to the Winlink system without a $1K modem; not as fast, but certainly usable.  Tom (N4TAB) plans on helping train our folks on Winnor.

D-Star is still being used but very expensive for folks to buy.  They appear to be working well and passing needed message very fast to some parts of the State.

Good update by Colonel Tom (KC4QRP) on MARS, Tom is heavy into Air force MARS
he said that MARS has a need for more MARS Operators.  If you were involved
in MARS in the past and gave it up, think about coming back and getting involved.  MARS
could really use YOUR help.
