11 – COMMENTS:
We have approached the Schiele Museum about setting up a small radio room at the museum, similar to the one at the Discovery Place.  They have shown a positive response and we will be following up with them.
 12 – UPCOMING EVENTS:

Run for the Money March 25, 2006:

It's that time again! ARES has done very well over the past several years, thanks to your efforts with the Run for the Money.  This year they plan to hold the event in downtown Gastonia. The date of the
event is March 25, 2006.  ARES will once again help provide communications for the race events. Hopefully we will be able to set up our new mobile communications unit for this event.  This will be a great opportunity to not only utilize the unit, but to show where the grant/donation funds have been used.  More information will be passed along as it become available.

Yard Sale May 6, 2006

We will hold our annual hot dog & yard sale.  The location for the sale will be announced later.

  10 – Comments:
*The Charlotte Hamfest 2006 is March 11 & 12.  Get there early for a parking spot.
*We’re preparing a Boy Scout Radio Merit Badge session at Discovery Place, NC4DP, which will complete the merit badge requirements for the recent Tech licensed scouts.

*Mecklenburg EOC is relocating to a new facility sooner than we had estimated.  We’ll be working with Emergency Mgmt to include an upgraded Ham station at the new facility.

*We’ve had some encouraging exchange with the hospital Systems about capabilities, installation, and operating requirements of backup Ham communications.  This has been an open question up until now, we hope more will follow.
