11 - COMMENTS : 147.3 repeater has been replaced....... seems to have very good coverage county-wide. 443.35 is off air for now. Will advise when it is back up. New repeater for it too. Also, new antennas are going up in the next 2-3 weeks for both of these.........................Stay tuned.

9 - NUMBER OF NET SESSIONS, DRILLS, OR TEST THIS MONTH: 4 Nets 3 on the 147.120 repeater and 1 Simplex training net.
10 - SPECIAL EVENTS: We have a simplex test set up between the Gaston County EOC, the Red Cross Office and all of the Gaston County Shelters on April 12, 2003.
11 – COMMENTS: The Boy Scout merit badge class held at Gaston Day School on February 15 was a great success. We had over a 100 boys that received certificates for sending their names in code. We are looking forward to next year.

The Technician class has started and we have 24 students attending.

12 – UPCOMING EVENTS: We have a VE test session set up for March 29, 2003 at the Red Cross office in Gastonia.
We have a group coming from the Gastonia Area Amateur Radio Club to visit the EOC on March 6, 2003. We have a program to present to them on ARES.

At our next ARES meeting on March 27, 2003, Gene Marshall, KG4IMC will be in charge of the program. Gene has worked up a very good program on packet. If anyone is interested in packet and would like to join us, you are welcome.

Carroll Owens KG4AWP appointed as the Field Day Committee Chairman. Welcome new members: Gene and Vickie Hovis – KG4UNK/KG4VHY and David Bear AG4YL.
