NTS, Field Day - Stanly County How to send
RADIOGRAM NTS messages
Note: When I visit Field Day locations I normally leave
a RADIOGRAM form for NTS message. I ask that
they assign it to someone at their F.D. gathering to
send me information (I enclosed) on my visit. I ask for
a Norman New Person to send me my request information.
They can provide guidance from a NTS trained person if
they have one. My
returned messages are about 60%. Point here, is a
number of county’s have on their Website a "How to send
NTS messages". You may want to follow Stanly County’s
method of have a set meeting just for the how too of NTS
messages and procedures. Old ham and especially new hams
should be made aware that it not an oh, I‘ve been there and
done that. I can assure you that during and emergency,
NTS type message the standard RADIOGRAM form on the left
and your
County EOC standard (ICS-213) form.
Talk with your E.C. to find out what form your County EOC is using.

When the phone line
go’s dead, when the cell phone battery gives up, when
the cell phone towers no longer works, when your
computer won’t fire up. “How Are You Going to Call” ?
As you can see I have modified my COMMENT ABOUT EOC.
Thanks toLarry (K4AEC) for correcting me. I though that I would never forget the changes to the
ICS-213 form it was a battle at one time. Also the
Radio Gram Form does not have to be limited to the
standard 25 words form.
