Per conversation with Tom Brown SEC N4TAB letters will be going out to ascertain rogue counties
status and desire to continue in ARES. I intend to have the letters out by the end of April, and
corrective actions taken by 1 July 11.

Delay for report is entirely my fault, no excuses.

Comments: ARES of Cleveland County members participated in a fox hunt held
in Gaston County on March 26. The group had a total of 24 person hours
during this training exercise. The group held their March meeting on March
31st and at this meeting there were 4 visitors, The increase in those
attending is due to a mailing the group decided to do at the last ARES
meeting. The Shelby Amateur Radio Club sponsored the mailing for the group
since SARC sponsors the group. One visitor has already returned their
registration form and will be starting the ICS classes soon. A member of
the group demonstrated how to build a portable J-Pole and then since it was
Red Cross Month (in March) the group learned about 72 Hour disaster
preparedness kits (16.25 person hours during the meeting). The group also
talked about the upcoming Over-The-Mountain Triathlon and communications for
the event.

SARC has added a D-Star net (ARES affiliated) to their weekly nets in order
to allow those with D-Star radios an opportunity to use their equipment and
learn more about D-Star operation. There are now 3 ARES affilliated nets
per week on 2 repeaters used for ARES of Cleveland County operations.

Comments: Thursday 3 March Meeting-We surfed the NC ARES Web Site for the
Club. We went through all the important items including the two power point
presentations on the use of the ICS Form 213. Some of our members do not
have computers and surfing the site was an eye opening experience for them.
All of the members present enjoyed looking at the material on the site./The
147.015 repeater was off the air from 19 Mar-31 Mar. We completed the
upgrade and reinstall on Friday 1 Apr. The repeater is up and running and a
significant improvement over the old one. The power has been increased to 75
Watts and a weather feature has been added. Some minor tweaking will be
required, but the repeater is working well.//

Comments: Mecklenburg County ARES Training Net, was on the air the very
first time for the month of March. We had a total of 35 checkins and each
net was 1 hour long. I had a very positive feedback on the net and those
that checkin really wants to learn more about emergency communications and
very active on each net. The net meets every Saturday at 7:00 PM on 145.290
Mhz. I also designed a Blog Page with important information about
Mecklenburg County ARES. The Blog Page address is:

Tuesday night on April 26th coming up, at the Mecklenburg Amateur Radio club
