Area-12 Meeting
Morganton Hamfest Saturday April 16, 2011

We met at the Shelter, not an indoor but an out door shelter.  Lots of
rain and it was cold but as they say the meeting went on.  A decent turn
out, four out of five counties were represented.  A good conversation
and discussion was held.  I was impressed with all the activities going
on in Ashe, Mitchell, McDowell Counties.  I was not impressed leaving my
cap and rain gear at the house.  My wife was less impressed as her gear was
with my stuff and I was assigned to bring it to the car before leaving the house.

The EC for Caldwell County has resigned.  Mitchelle (KD4YTU) her plate
is full teaching at the College, Mitchelle felt this would be a good time to let
go of the reins.  Thanks, Michelle for the many years of service as the EC
of Caldwell County.  I hope that you will continue to set up the ARES State
meetings at the College for us.

About a week ago Jerry (AD4JG) called and talked with me about his work
situation, his increased work load and the extra duties that are
required on his new assignment with the Company.  I sure hated to
agree with Jerry but Family and Work is always a main priority.  I asked Jerry to
give his resignation a little more thought, to let me know after the weekend.
Monday Jerry told me that he decided he would resign.  I ask him if he would
consider talking the EC opening in Caldwell County and he agreed.  So thanks
Jerry for your three years as the DEC but as the EC you are still family and
we expect to continue to hear from you.

Those attending.
