11 - COMMENTS :Reminder.... ARES net  8:30pm on Tues night......... 147.3/pl136.5.  The 443.35 is back up.
 
Gaston County
12 – UPCOMING EVENTS:
September 13, 2005

We will be holding a code class starting September 13, 2005.  This will be an 8 week class held at the new Gaston County Police Dept. located at 420 W. Franklin Blvd. in Gastonia on Tuesdays starting at 7PM.  The class is free and the students will not need any supplies.  For more information please contact Joe Hullender at: [email protected]  

 August 21, 2005 Shelby Hamfest     

     We will set up our ARES tent at the Shelby Hamfest.  This will give us an opportunity for exposure, to promote ARES and Amateur radio and a place to rest and to sell a few items for ARES to add additional funds to our account.

11, Comments: A: Club Meeting, Meteorologist, Presenter:  Terri Bennett  
Date: 8/25/05 Locust (Crutchfield Center) Stanly Community College.  We had a

descent turn out and really enjoyed  the meeting conducted by Terri Bennett Channel 6 in Charlotte.  If any of you have

an open date you may want to give Terri a call and see if she can schedule the date.  I'm sure she may need sometime
to schedule a date on a moments notice. 
B: Several of our ARES members participated in the McGuire Nuclear drill thru Mecklenburg net.
 

Union County
 11 - COMMENTS: THIS MONTH:. The EC and AEC’s are redoing the Calling
 Tree and confirming the telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of all ARES members.  The NC4UC repeaters are still not linked due to system problems.  I would also like to welcome new member Tina Burns KI4KGB.
12 –  UPCOMING EVENTS:  Shelby Hamfest and AREA 12 EC Meeting.  Ares 12 Meeting

Looks like that we have plenty of room (45) at the Gaston EOC conference room Saturday (September 17th).
 Same rule as always.  If you or one of your AEC’s can’t make the meeting do not hesitate to replace
those that can not attend with one of your ARES members.  The meeting will provide them with the
topics that we discus at the meeting as well as introducing them to the members from the other
County’s in attendance.   The more people that attends will benefit all of the Six County’s involved
in ARES.
