These
are photos that I have taken over the years of people, things,
activities, and
local places that I find artistic or interesting.
To learn more about street photography, you can download the PDF
article "The Photographers Right",
by Attorney Bert P. Krages from my Resources
page. All photographs here are the intellectual property of Dr.
Anthony Jones Boyette (Southern Outer Banks News) and may not be
printed, distributed, or used without express written permission.
In the US, the protection of free speech is generally interpreted
widely, and encompasses art speech, including photography. As
such, street photography is exempt from right to privacy claims.
For example, the case Nussenzweig
v. DiCorcia
established that taking, publishing, and selling street photography,
including street portraits, is legal even without the consent of the
person being portrayed, because photography is protected as free speech
and art by the First Amendment.
