Were built right on top of the phosphates. Just abit north in Kentucky it's mined for tobacco fertilizer. Polonium 210 was not mentioned in the article, but the fertilizerd tobacco is loaded with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *From:* Henry Barwood *To:* GeigerCounterEnthusiasts@yahoogroups.com *Sent:* Mon, March 15, 2010 10:39:15 AM *Subject:* RE: [GeigerCounterEnthusiasts] Radiation and Phosphogypsum The Phosphate Institute had recommended use of the PG as a road base material in Florida. This would take all the existing PG and place it under highways. The EPA arbitrarily blocked this with their 1992 edict. I seriously doubt that such use would endanger anyone, but the EPA is the final word.
