My New Antenna / 5 Over 5

(From 02/Oct/2000)

<About 5 Over 5>

I felt the following features in the propagation characteristic of 24MHz,

it was experienced though I started the operation of 24MHz in April, 2000.

(1) Very deep QSB at a long cycle.

(2) This is a propagation characteristic which has never been experienced

   in 21MHz and 28MHz.

Therefore, it was difficult for me to do stable QSO.

I decided the stack of the antenna to be tried to do stable QSO.

When the antenna was made a stack, the following specifications were done.

(1) The antenna is made a structure which can be rotated by 360 degrees.

(2) The stack interval of the antenna is assumed to be 7 meters

   in consideration of mechanical strength, the elevation, and the gain.

The impression actually used is as follows.

(1) Deep QSB at a long cycle is improved and the reception signal

   is comparatively a stable.

(2) The receiver sensitivity of 24MHz has improved.

Here is 5 over 5 for 24MHz and calculated patterns.
