My shack in Japan

I started ham radio since 1976 (When I was 11 years old) so I have been operating radios over twenty years. Below you can see pictures of my shack in Japan. My main RIG was TS-820 and R-820. Antenna was a home brew 6 element mono band YAGI for 15m (21MHz) up about 66ft high.

With this set up, I worked over 260 countries in a year with limited operation time such as from 1AM to 3AM JST. Due to the reason, pacific was only the area that I had hard times. Otherwise, contacting from Africa to Caribbean was a piece of cake! As a matter of fact, I made a contact with 3B8 with just a few watts.

I moved to California in 1992. Since then, I did not operate Radio station for a while because I left everything in Japan. After six years of silence, I am now back to the road of Radio again.

Although I am now operating a small station (as you can see my following pages), minding DX contacts remains unchanged.
