How many people want to increase the laptop's wireless reception in the 2011? In this page I show you how it is possible to connect an external antenna to the PC using the internal wireless card and also maintaining active its internal antenna.

The mods were made to a laptop Acer Travel Mate series with an integrated card Intel, but you can easily apply to any laptop, with due precaution in the choice of the point at which to make the changes.

The modification consists to insert a pigtail cable about 25cm long, (like in this photo) that will enable you to connect the antenna external wireless card anna de Notebook:


Open the cover and locate where the wireless card

Make 6mm drill hole, where you insert the connector RP-SMA.

Place the connector by inserting it from inside with the help of tweezers, and secure it with the nut.

Now you can connect any external antenna, maybe one built by us. I bought a wifi antenna on ebay for a few money.
