Here is my shack!

Back to the main page.
This is my shack as of November 2010.
On the main shelf from left to right you can see:
- my Asus A6F laptop running Windows XP Home Edition (SP 2), which I use for almost
everything related to ham radio (the windows visible on the screen are those of
Digital Master 780 version 4.0 SP4, an excellent freeware tool designed by Simon
Brown HB9DRV and useable for all of the digital modes available to the radio amateurs
community... plus SSTV (which isn't digital) as an added bonus - just two words:
TRY IT!)
- my Icom IC-706, which at present is my only working rig
- my CW key (substantially unused since many years)
- above the IC-706, my radio amateur smurf
- beside the smurf, my homemade antenna tuner
On the upper shelf from left to right you can see:
- a Daiwa AF-606K all-mode active filter (it is causing me trouble at the moment so I
can't use it and I am looking forward for the time when I'll have a few hours to
spend into its troubleshooting and - possibly - repair)
- the small box with the three knobs is the DigiHam interface I use to connect the
computer to the IC-706
- my Hoxin RW-200CN cross-needle SWR and power meter
- the dummy load that N4GU bought for me at a hamfair in the U.S. and handed out to my
wife when she went on a work trip to Raleigh, NC
On the table to the left you can see:
- a homemade 12-volt 150-watt power supply unit that I use for everything around the
shack but the IC-706
- a Zetagi HP-12-S 12-volt 180-watt power supply unit that I use exclusively
for the IC-706
Finally, all around my ham radio stuff there are traces of some of my other interests, more specifically on the musical side: my record player (yes, I love the old vynil records of my youth), the corners of my hi-fi pieces of equipment and some of my audio CDs.
