My interest
on radio communication began about in the early 70s, when on a
magazine my curiosity was captured
by a "AM BC Transmitter" article.
My father
accompanied me to buy all the components ( 2 Germaniun transistor
AC127 / AC128, some components,
a ferrite loopstick and a carbon microphone).
After about
2 days a new broadcast station borned !!! All my friends taken
their radio around the garden
of our flat to listen me shouting and singing...
After some
years the interest on radiocommunication grown more and more
so in 1972 CB operation began
and in 1976 I had my examination to get my radio
licence, furthermore I receive
the callsign I3VFJ.
Working
in HF was exciting, but no much money was in my pocket, so working
QRP was a constrain.
My first
rig was a Yaesu FR50B/FL50B, that gave me,reducing power output,
in 1978 the third place in
WPX SSB QRP category.
In the same
period satellite operations caught my attention, as connection
with another old loved hobby:
astronomy... Then there wasn't PC, but only the
first programmable calculator
(Texas SR56 or more powerful TI58), but still low
in money, I felt back on paper,
pencil and Oscarlocator to predict passes.
Obviosuly
operations was in A mode, mainly via russian satellite with a lot of
listening in B mode (Oscar
7 was there !!!).
But from
those beloved years much time passed, with a lot of experiments
trying many types of communication
in various bands, contests, homemade
projects, computing and so
on.
From 1980
the radiocommunications become a job, but the interest is the
same ....
Only the
time is despot but NEVER MIND: it's possible to try some spare time
after dinner, or in the weekend,
while tiredness not become too much strong,
or the family reclaims my attention.
Now my curiosity
is about VLF communication and with my friends some
projects are on the road..................
..........
TO BE CONTINUED (I hope ......)
