I2WIJ is the QSL Manager for CN3A and 5D5A callsigns:

The story of what happened in the last weeks of september and early october, is very long and it doesn't worth to tell it.
What it is true is that we already had requested the J49Z callsign, and we already had it assigned and granted from Athens.
Moreover Max, IZ4DPV, had built 3 new monoband antennas, for 10, 15 and 20M, and we planned to have a new, and higher, telescopic tower.
Then it happened that the place, which has been our beach QTH for 5 years, was not available anymore, and we had to find another one in a hurry.
Thanks to Dimitris, SV9COL, we had found another place, with an even better and wider beach, a house to be used for the shack, and most of all the other usual facilities.
The main, and not to be underestimated, drawback was that this place is located 5 km west of Heraklion, in a gulf with a very close and high promontory, which would have acted as a screen toward North America and the Caribbean.
Moreover, being at the bottom of the sunspot cycle, this would have signified, with a high degree of probability, to make a huge worthless effort.
Facing this situation and in the middle of a hard decision, between to try or to give up, the opportunity to join a fresh new team in Morocco was more than welcome, and so CN3A became a reality.
