======================================================================

You should have the following
    UIBUTTS.TXT This file.
    UIBUTTS.EXE The main program
UIBUTTS.XTR The .XTR file. Put this in the UIVIEW root directory.
    CALC.BUT A demo .BUT file.

UIBUTTS is simply an adaption of BUTTONS for Winpack for use with UI-View.

====================================================================
INSTALLATION
------------

Be careful when installing UIBUTTS.

1) Make a new directory under the UIVIEW root directory called
        UIBUTTS

2) Put UIBIUTTS.XTR in the UIVIEW root directory.

3) For Every application that you want to run from UIBUTTS you need
a .BUT file and an ICON(.ICO) file in the UIBUTTS directory.

You can have up to twelve applications on UIBUTTS.

        Constructing the .BUT file.
        ---------------------------
        Use a plain ASCII editor.

Any line starting with a colon (;) is a comment and will be
        ignored.

There must be three working lines, they are:

NAME= <=== This is the name that you want to see under the
                button.
PROG= <=== This is the name of the program you want this
button to run. It MUST be in the UIVIEW root
                directory.
ICON= <=== This is the name of the ICON you want on the
button. It must be in the UIVIEW\UIBUTTS directory.

The position of the working lines in the .BUT file is
irrelevant, and being upper or lower case makes no difference.

Put the .BUT file in your UIVIEW\UIBUTTS directory.

4) Put UIBUTTS.EXE in the UIVIEW root directory.

5) Re-Boot UIVIEW.

If you have an error message then read it carefully as it should give
you a clue as to what you have done wrong.

You can drag UIBUTTS anywhere you wish on the screen by putting the
mouse pointer over the small blue bar on the right hand side and
holding the left mouse button down as you move the mouse.

When you start UIBUTTS it will position itself where you placed it when
you last closed it down.

UIBUTTS also has BUTTON HINTS. These are little yellow boxes that
show up when the mouse cursor is over a button provided UIBUTTS has
the focus. To make sure that UIBUTTS has the focus just point and
click anywhere on UIBUTTS. The Button Hint will show the text that is
placed in the .BUT file under NAME= and is used as a reminder as to
the use of this button.

The BUTTON HINTS can be turned off by changing BUTTON_HINTS=TRUE to
BUTTON_HINTS=FALSE in UIBUTTS.INI which will be found in the UIVIEW
root directory.
