Neuwirth Imre

Győr, 1894. - Tel-Aviv, 1955.

Nyomdász, író. A Győrszigeti Orthodox Izraelita Elemi Iskola után nyomdásztanulónak szerződött. Az I. fokú Iparostanonc Iskola Nyomdász Tagozatán 1912-ben végzett.
A Gross-céggel munkaszerződést kötött. 1916-ban feleségül vette Koth Margitot. 1930-ban mestervizsgát tett. Az iparos oklevéllel Győrben, a Szél (Szabadsajtó) utca 15-ös házban önálló nyomdai vállalkozást létesített.
A Kisfaludy Nyomda névjegyek, plakátok, irodai űrlapok és egyéb termékek készítésével foglalkozott. Közben vallásfilozófiai, illetve a zsidó hitélettel foglalkozó műveket írt. Az anyaszív című imádságos könyvét 1944. március 23-án fejezte be.
A család nőtagjai a holocaust áldozatai lettek. Ő visszatért. Nyomdászati tevékenységének folytatására azonban nem kapott engedélyt. A már beteg férfi elhagyta az országot, Izraelben hunyt el.

Neuwirth Imrét munkaszolgálatba vitték, közben feleségét (Margit) és két leánygyermekét (Sára és Jolán) Auswitzban megölték. Könyvei nagy részét a szomszédok és a lakásfoglalók 1944-45 -ben elégették. A nyomdába 1944-ben nyilasok költöztek be. Apját (Jakab), aki nyolc fiú gyermekét adta az I.Világháborúba, (ezért IV. Károly király kitüntette) még 1920-ban Hortista különítményesek agyonverték.
A II. Világháború előtt Magyarország zsidó lakossága (a jelenlegi határokon belül) 450 000 fő volt, jelenleg 80 000 fő. A nagy részüket, annak ellenére, hogy magyar állampolgárok voltak, kiirtották. Itt maradtak mementónak az üres zsinagógák, ezek pusztulása azóta is folyik, tekintettel arra, hogy nincs aki látogassa azokat.
