T K B O O K V0.1 Index: *Introduction *Bindings: *TODO *Thanks to *Contact Introduction: I always wished to read a hole book (eText) on the screen. Of course, one can do this with a simple texteditor - but is this really comfortable to read a whole book? I looked on the web to find such a tool running under Linux/Windows but could not find something appropriate. I decided to create such a tool on my own and putted my thoughts to HTML browsers and PDF Viewers. Thats why the look and feel of this program is more browser-like and not like an editor. It means that Tkbook is not for text editing but for reading. Tkbook should be easy to use and self explaining - well almost! I tried to use KDE-Icons where I could to make this tool looking nice... I wrote this tool completely in the fabulous TCL/TK scriptlanguage. This has the advantage of running under several Operating Systems like Linux,Unix,Windows,Mac...(Tested only for Linux and Windows/WINNT) Mac Users: Reports are welcome! Bindings: Mouse: You can drag the eText by clicking and moving it. The left mousebutton is used for slow scrolling and the middle one for fast scrolling. The right mousebutton is used to popup the menu. Keyboard * F1: Opens up this help * F3: Open a eText File * F4: Set the bookmark * F5: Goto the bookmark * F10: Enters the menubar * ESC: Close Tkbook You can scroll slow the eText by pressing UP/DOWN or fast by pressing the PGUP/PGDOWN Keys. TODO: * Find menu * more bookmarks * Trying to add antialiasing with t1lib (Would be a great hack, tough!) * Direct eText download from the web * Wheel mouse support for Linux * Small Bugfixing :-) * Renice of eText (Inteligent textwrapping, this is partly done) * Chapter recognizing * More options * Supporting simple HTML tags * Direct eText download from the web Thanks to: Marko Macek for his great editor called "FTE".
