6 element 144MHz Yagi (50ohm) DK7ZB GW4RWR
Introduction
This was a rebuild of the 5 element, once I decided that a 5 over 5 was not going to happen due to lack of copper.
It was too floppy to hold itself up, so was suspended by a length of strimmer cord.
Results?
Perhaps surprisingly, I am aware of the increased directivity of one extra element. It also helps null out any noise, an increasing hazard on 2m, I'm afraid, even though I live in the countryside.
DK7ZB calculated a gain of 10.2dBd. I measured a return loss of XXdB.
This performs very like my 9 element Tonna, for 0.8m less boomlength.
Austria and Czech worked during the tropo of 23 September 2013.
