9 April 2004 small changes with the html stuff (stuff = Technical term for when I haven't got no clue what I’m messing about with) 7 April 2004 changed 1 of the counters and changed font size on news page (request from a site visitor) 1 April 2004 added a new page homebrew
Hmm where do I start? Ok after 6 months of being talked into getting my ticket back (fanks wullie) I finally did it I SPENT MONEY on getting me ticket back. So next thing, find me radios. I know where they are in a box in the loft. Problem No 1 in a box with all me hook up wire (about 7 or 8 diff colours about 20 metres long each TANGLED together) so after spending sometime removing said wires (so I could get power leads for radios). Hooked radios up OOOOOH they work, well receive anyways. Next wait for ticket, days and days nuffin, hrmmm email the ticket place Reply wot ticket application? New email 2 ticket place: Ermm the 1 which u billed wullies credit card (fanks again wullie) {side note, wullie is a nice man, a very nice man} Sooo finally sorted so they said PAUSE Few more days’ nuffin So email them again this time gets told problem with new stationary, but if I get a copy of a current BR68 I can operate . WOOOOOHOOO for the NET (d/led a copy). Sooo now I’m ready 2 go on air, so with a little fear and trepidation (read shit scared) I goes on, speaks wiff wullie GM0MZB (have I mentioned wot a nice dude he is?) Here the fun begins, I wanted a gentle reintroduction to the radio so arranged a sked with wullie. BUT instead I gets a FULL BLOWN PILEUP on myself from what seemed like every local ham in the area, all saying hi and welcoming me back on air (at this point 2 seconds away from a heart attack and running away crying for me mum) I swallowed hard smoked 6 cigs and spoke with them all (THANKS GUYS). Wasn’t how I planned on finding my feet again on air, but it did work LMAO. Number 2 problem couldn’t hear everyone very well (computer hash) so few days later found a cure for the problem (mains born noise (I think)) SWITCH EVERYTHING OFF. 4 TV’s, 3 DVD players 2 cable boxes, 4 puters +monitors printer etc etc. Wooohooo now I can hear people Number 3 problem causing TVI Built tvi filter gave them it, their TV booster blows up, my XYL thinking it was the TVI filter I made (tried to explain tvi filter was a passive device) so gives them a booster I had. Problem number 4 the wonder rig, the super duper rig THE FT-817 (GM0HZI another nice man) which I got a loan of from GM0HZI (with the intension of me buying the radio) seemed to have a power problem on 80 and 160 soo checked it with GM0HZI’s vswr meter then GM0MZB’s meter same deal Not a happy puppy now, cuz I soooooooooooo want this radio I’m sooooooooooooooo not happy Did I mention that yaesu made this radio just for me? And that I soooooooooo wanted 1? Anyways that nice man
GM0MZB took my baby away and tested it on some sorta god like testing device and
the radio was FINE Then that silly man GM0HZI remembers why he didn’t use that vswr meter AAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH I got worried over nothing, not a thing other than a meter problem Sooooooooooooo I got a LARGE Jar of Vaseline and promptly covered said meter with it for a certain application it’s going to be used when it’s returned Problem number 5 or is it still 4 ?? Or was it 3 ?? Anyways tvi getting out of hand, council involved, soooo I pointed them in the proper direction, nice and polite I was. HONEST Couple of hours later, the proper folks come out check radio, all is fine Little bit of trouble with the “proper” people, me not a happy puppy (nice man GM0MZB stayed with me, cuz he was worried I was gonna go nutz) SO this is a hobby ain`t it? Sposed to be fun? LMAO you just gotta laugh at what the world chucks at ya The point of this entire ramble?? A big thank you for all those that have helped me since I got back on air. Help with equipment, advice, taking the time speaking with me, Generally making me feel welcome, THANK YOU ALL Side note GM0HZI is a sick man, he sold a FT-817 Side note GM0MZB is just as sick ,he let me buy the FT-817, when it was offered to him |
