Echolink - It's radio Jim, but not as we know it*!

I currently host the Echolink gateway for GB3KA, the UHF repeater for the Kilmarnock area. Activity on this repeater was historically low, but was given a new lease of life when amateurs in the area curious about Echolink then started to use it for normal repeater use when they found out how good the coverage is.

The NOV for GB3KA is for unattended 24 hour use and its node number is 349393. The gateway uses a old Compaq 700Mhz laptop connected to a Philips FM1000 series ex PMR radio.

To use Echolink from your radio you must have a DTMF keypad to control the gateway. You can also access it from your home PC with the Echolink software. Don't forget to disconnect by pressing # when you are finished.
