Ebay Frequency Counter Board

    A frequency counter is a great asset to any shack but they can be quite pricy.  My old Thandar FT-200 gives great service but its only good to 200Mhz.  My project to build a DMR repeater for GB7AY required something capable of doing something a little higher.

I found this on eBay and found it to be really good value and surprisingly accurate.
 

A cheap instrument case also from ebay and it starts to look the part.

A word of warning though as with all frequency counter do not connect them directly to an RF source or you will burn them out. I use a isotee isolator made from a SO23/PL259 Tee coupler. You can find out details hoe to make one here:-
