UITOOL Readme. Usage Notes Until the help file is complete the following notes should help you get running. When the program is first run, after installing, it will create a .xtr file so that it can be run from the UI-View32 menu in future. To have the UITools.xtr file re created simply delete it from the main UI-View32 directory The main station list window can be used to record an individual log file for a station, useful for recording mobile log files. To do this select the check box next to the callsign and select a filename. The Log maintenence option, on the file menu, can be used to move log files to and from the main UIView32 directory. If you highlight a station in the station list that is sending weather data then the weather toolbar button will be displayed. Click this button to display the data that has been recorded. When a weather window is selected the date to display drop down can be used to switch between different dates to display. You can open any number of weather chart windows. The Capture screen toolbar button will capture the current UI-View32 map to a new window. You can then select an area of the window to capture again. Any of the capture windows can be saved to disk as a bitmap, .bmp, file. The 'DC' toolbar button will display data from the DX Clusters in a window. The data for each band is displayed on a separate tab. You can plot the stations on the UI-View32 map by selecting the option on the settings tab. UITools will look for certain prefixes and record these on a seperate tab. Select the 'Allow Spot Notification' option to enable this. To monitor a prefix select it from the list that appears. DX Spots can be exipred after a pre determined time, in minutes. To turn this off select a time of 0, thats zero. For this window to work UI-View32 must be enabled to detect Dx Spots, see the main UI-View32 help for details. UITools will track and plot upto 20 satellites on the UI-View32 map. Select the button from the toolbar and select the satellites you wish to track. To get the best view try a world map. The Satellite status window will display the satellites in text, world or horizon view. The Plot path toolbar button will display the path you have heard a station by on the UI-View32 map. Select a staion from the list and click the button. There is also a floating window available to make this process easier. All comments and suggestions are welcome. I can be reached at alex.greenland@btinternet.com Known Issues. 1) This is BETA software and may contain errors. Please report errors to the email address above. 2) When resizing the weather chart windows the charts do not resize when moving from tab to tab. The tab will be resized the next time it is. To resize the tab clisk on another tab and then the tab you wish to view. 3) The floating toolbar is not complete and can be a bit fiddly to use. 4) UITool needs to be installed in the main UI-View32 directory. This limitation will be removed soon.
