New fish acquired after purchase of tanks, fish and equiptment from previous owner.
You will notice that I do not say fish keeper or aquarist as the conditions
they were being kept in beggered description !. Altho they are now in only a 3ft
tank, which I had to lash up quick to move them, I am doing daily water changes
and there is a 403 Fluval filter, they are still in fish heaven compared to
their last home! The tank they were in was a five foot 15x12 with no lighting in a very dark bathroom. They were being fed on "muesli"? and bran which was shovelled in occasionally and had blocked the filter and gone rotten!. The water was only 8 inches deep and stank |

The filter whilst I was cleaning it !.It was being cleaned occasionally but washed
under the tap which of course killed the filter each time! |
None of the filter trays were charged correctly and the photos were taken just as
it was opened, with rotting food in all trays, due to holes in media, the tray
in the photo had one old charcoal bag and about 20 ceramic shells in it.I
think I bought them more from pity than want! |

I think the righthand fish of this pair is blind in one eye and all needed a couple
of days to get used to tank lighting. It amazes me how they have stayed alive
in the conditions they had. |
This fish is about 12 inches overall and has a habit if blocking the filter input
with its long tail which I cured by putting a plant pot under the filter input
Its a real shame these veiled fish are unable most of the time to swim correctly,
I dont find it fun to watch them tumble over. |

I think this one is a mirror carp,.Still he is very active and healthy looking and
seems quite happy in his new clean home. |
3 ft 15x12 with a Fluval 303 external filter and fine airstone, quickly set up in
the garage, 3 gals water changed/2 days. The tank, one of the purchase took a
whole day of cleaning to look like this.! |
