As in years past this popular event is being held in Merley Wimborne, Dorset. There will be marquees full of items of interest to radio Amateurs, electronic/electrical hobbyists, computer buffs, and others. One of marquees will be devoted to arts and craft items. The usual car boot sales will be out in force displaying their wares also. Food and drink of course will be available at the Sports and Social Club (licenced bar) on the grounds. Bill Journeau will be in the Sports and Social Club with his unique collection of antique radios and television sets.
Slow morse code examinations are planned again for this year in the FRARS Clubhouse. So if you are in need of the five words per minute qualification, this is your opportunity. Don't forget to bring two passport size photos and some ID.
Tesla Coil demonstrations (miniature lightning generator) were given at the three previous Hamfests, and considerable interest was shown, especially at the last Hamfest. Lightning bolts over 12" long were displayed along with other high voltage effects. There will be the Van DeGraaff machine with G0UPS demonstrating its strange high dc voltage behaviour.
Plenty of free parking spaces will be available conveniently located in a large nearby field.
Overnight camping facilities will be available for Saturday 10th. Talk-in on S22.
