MODESDECO2
MODESDECO2 is a ads-b
receiver/decoder and will also decode the secondary mode a/c signal from
planes. you can output this data to such programs as
virtual radar server etc across your home network.
modesdeco2
( downloadable from here
) is a good program but due to the google maps not
being displayed correctly is now perhaps not so good for some people
How
ever
there is a way round the map situation ( that's
assuming you don't want to get a gooles map key )
launch modesdeco2 and you will be
able to use all the screens ( including the google
maps screen, but it will have 'for development purposes
only' )
printed across it
but
if you want to see the planes plotted on a map without the 'for
development purposes only' run virtual radar server and add the raspberry pi
address of the rpi running modesdeco2 to your virtual
radar server list of receivers from there within virtual radar server click on
menu - receiver and select the receiver
running modesdeco2 from the drop downlist
you will now have the advantage
of being able to view data from both programs

The
top image shows virtual radar server displaying just the output from modesdeco2
remember dump/acarsdeco/modesdeco etc will run on raspberry pi zero so you dont need to make a huge investment to have multiple
receivers ( the rtl dongle will probably cost more
than the pi zero's )
use the below for a quick check
that your programs are running ( will check on ports 30001,30002 etc )
sudo wget -o - -q http://192.168.1.15:30003
use your ip adress
