After modifying the regedit file to show ground stations correctly - i found it does not show the frequencies so I  modified it with the below -its solved a few problems - maybe introduced others.the ground stations send out a file giving these frequencies periodically - pc-hfdl will display numbers instead of frequencies until it’s got a recent file - sorcerer displays numbers instead of frequencies in a simliar manner but does not seem to get updated 

So maybe these frequencies are hard coded into the registry somewhere but I can't find where - my method works and displays frequencies but it will  still show something like the below ( but it goes without saying all the program is showing is known 'good' frequencies –it’s not showing 'live' propagating frequencies )

Barrow changed its name back in december 2016 and is now called utqiagvik I think the HFDL station is still located there, but I leave the reference from the original article in the list. anchorage is about 750 miles south-east from  Utqiagvik
