The Russian "Beta" Time Signal System

Transmitted on the following frequencies:

20.5 kHz
23 kHz
25 kHz
25.1 kHz
25.5 kHz

The transmission follows an hourly schedule and is transmitted in different hours by different stations across the old Soviet Union. At different points in the schedule, a different signal can be heard. At first just a carrier; then the callsign of the station in CW; next a carrier with 40Hz modulation, double sideband; a 10pps time signal and finally silence. For the exact schedule refer to http://www.vlf.it/russianvlf/russianvlf.htm. This web page is mostly from ALFLAB, All Low Frequencies research and detection, Halden in Norway.
