VA3LK transmission 22/23 January 2001
The images overlap and read as follows:
CQ DE VA
VA3LK
K QSO?
They were recorded using Argo with AGC off, 60 second dots, Magnitude squared, Sensitivity 5, Contrast 3. Frequency appeared as 800.8Hz, which translates to 137.7894 kHz. The QRN which ended almost suddenly at 06.40 is visible in the first image.
VA3LK transmission 30/31 January 2001
The following pictures were taken at half-hour intervals and show the period 06.28 till 08.36. Each picture represents a one hour interval, so the middle one overlaps the other two.
137790.0 Signal A
137789.8 Signal B
137787.8 Loran
137787.4 Signal C
Signals A and B are probably from distant broadcast stations, since some sort of modulation can be seen on them. They were strongest at 02.00 and 03.00 and at a steady slightly lower level from 04.30 until 06.20 when they disappeared simultaneously with a big drop in QRN(QRM?) Signal A is slightly weaker but they follow the same pattern of changes in strength.
The Loran line is strongest during the day time and weaker at night with dips at 04.00 and a big dip at 05.30, but then recovering strongly.
Signal C is only seen at night. It was strongest at 01.00 and disappeared
suddenly at 06.20. The pattern of changes in strength is different from
that for Signals A and B.
