
I started my education at St Andrews school in Small Heath, close to the Birmingham City football ground. I stayed there till I was 13 years old, after which the family moved to Plymouth in Devon, UK. I Left education in 1958 and started work.
I started work at a Laundry as an apprentice Electrical Engineer. I am still in the same industry, but the Dry Cleaning side of it.
My work covers a wide rang of subjects, Steam generating equipment, Computers that control the processing. Refridgeration that is used for condencing the solvent after being cleaned.
I retiered in 2006 after 48 years in the industry, I now spend most of my time at my hobbies.
My hobbies are, and the main hobby is Amateur Radio, my callsign is G3YJQ I was licensed in 1969 and have been active on the RTTY mode for most of the time, and close behind is CW. For some time I was interested in Packet Radio. I was a systems operator for some time and held the Callsign for a node stack of GB7TM and also a Cluster Sysop with the Callsign of GB7PDX.
