Swedish Lighthouse Award

The Swedish Lighthouse Award is issued by Norrköpings Radio Club SK5BN / 7S5LH with the intention of stimulating amateur radio activity around ILLW and other lighthouse activities. The award can be applied for by licensed radio amateurs or SWL’s according to the following rules:-

The applicant should have worked each QSO from one and the same DXCC country. Different QTH’s are allowed. All amateur bands and modes of operation are allowed as well as /P, /AM, /M, /MM etc. QSO’s worked after January 1, 2001 will be accepted in the application.

A QSO with a Swedish lighthouse or lightship (according to the lighthouse list), verified by a QSL card, is worth one point. A QSL card with a picture of a lighthouse or lightship is worth an extra point = 1 Joker. The name of the lighthouse or lightship and/or its LH number must be on the card.

To obtain the Swedish Lighthouse Award the following criteria must be fulfilled:-

DX stations – (outside EU) 6 points of which a maximum of 2 Jokers.

EU stations - 8 points of which a maximum of 2 Jokers.

SM stations - 10 points of which a maximum of 2 Jokers.

Amateur stations activating a lighthouse or lightship should be within 500 metres of the lighthouse or lightship when working QSO’s.

The Award can be issued for a special amateur band or mode of operation if so desired.

Any Club or single operator activating a lighthouse or lightship can claim the award on showing a copy of a log containing no less than 500 QSO’s in one and the same activity.

The application for the award should be accompanied by the GCR list and € 5 or 5 USD and sent to the following address: –
