What does the home constructor need in the way of Test Equipment?

There is no simple answer to this question which is often asked by newcommers to the hobby. But we can suggest a basic list:

 

Multimeter - Analogue	Digital Voltmeter
RF Probe	Simple Power Meter
Grid Dip Meter	Another GDO
Frequency Counter	Signal Injector
Noise Bridge-Simple type	Small AF Amp probe
Absorbtion Wavemeter

This list may look exotic but most of the items can be built for very little expenditure, and a number of these items have been described in SPRAT (The Quartely journal of the G QRP Club) and in Radio Communication (RSGB)
