I have been interested in hill walking for a number of years and always carried my handheld and had some fantastic QSO's. A few years ago I read up on the Summits On The Air (S.O.T.A.) awards to see which summits are included. A number of high points I walk are not listed but I do activate to give stations the oppourtunity to work the various locator squares.
Below are the summits I have activated now that I am registered with Summit Watch.

The equipment can vary, sometimes I carry just one dual band radio, other times I will carry three radios giving me 6m, 4m, 2m and 70cm. Some activations are with handheld antennas others with portable antennas. Activations are always during a circular walk of about ten miles so times published on the SOTA sites have to be flexible.
